The third full length album from writer, Ancient Mith, documents a six week homeless stint with a decent paying job and unstable rap career in the summer of 2007 and roughly, the six weeks after. Two of the weeks without home, Ancient traveled, 7,000 miles, coast to coast of the US with good friend and cover art artist Eric Cherry. In this time, he reconnected with producer/friend, Unconventional Science. Neither person had the intention of an album together after meeting in California. A few weeks later the album was complete and Hungry Giant was born. The sound is something both artists felt music, hip hop more specifically, was lacking at this time and place. [under] Mining Skies is a tribute to the past as much as it is a rain dance towards the future.
